- By A.J. Leicester vs Crystal Palace certainly doesn’t sound like fixture featuring two sides competing for a Champions League position but, well, here we are. Both sides have been outperforming expectations by a big margin this year and proving that the money flowing around the English Premier League has really benefitted some of the smaller clubs by helping them attract relatively big names since they can afford the enhanced wages.
Belied by the increased global TV exposure, we have seen the Crystal Palaces and the Leicesters match their newfound TV riches by invested in quality football that the fans seem to be enjoying.
The Foxes can be backed at a 6/5 listing at the time of this writing while Alan Pardew’s Crystal Palace side are trading at an 11/5 margin and looking solid value for money since they’ve shown the ability to win well on the road.
Looking at the feature match on Sunday and it appears as though we have a really even contest on our hands with the bookmakers giving the slightest of edges to Manchester United by listing them at a 6/4 margin right now. Surely the prices will fluctuate as the money flows in on this high-profile fixture but City are a ways off the favourites position with a 17/10 margin.
Look for the draw at a 9/4 price as Van Gaal will likely try to strangle this City team into submission. The line-up named for the fixture could be a real telling statement and what a platform for young Anthony Martial to step up and make his presence felt once again on the big stage here.
