English Premier League Betting Tips and Correct Score Calls for This Weekend

With things started to get extremely interesting both at the top of the league and at the bottom, you really have to admit that it simply doesn't get any better than the English Premier League. You wonder why sheiks, oligarchs and billionaires from all four corners of the globe want to be involved in the league? It's because, like it or not, it is the most consistently exciting product on the planet and I don't expect this weekend's action to be any different. In fact, I think there are some absolute crackers happening in the next three days. The real thing obvious thing for me is that this year's Premier League season has been different than the previous two or three because things really have opened up more. The Big 4 looks to be cracked and a lot of previously crappy teams are not just punching above their weight, but really making a big splash by offering up something different. Small teams are taking it to the big teams and squads like Wigan, West Ham and Fulham aren't winning every game, but they certainly aren't rolling over and taking it up the arse the way that they used to.So, onto the predictions (which are still consistently more successful than Mark Lawrenson's, for whatever that's worth) Stoke vs Man City: Man City looked solid in mid-week action and Stoke are having problems getting the ball into the oppositions net. I like City 2-1 in this one, paying 7/1 with Paddy Power. Arsenal vs West Ham: London derbys are never easy and Arsenal look like they can struggle against mediocre opposition. I am backing a 1-1 draw, paying 13/2 at Paddy Power. Aston Villa vs Wigan: Any season prior to this one and you'd say that this was just a regular match. These are two of the scrappiest teams the league has ever seen and this one will be a real show. 2-1 to the Villa in a classic encounter pays 13/2 with Paddy Power. Bolton vs Tottenham: Two teams who really aren't where they should be at the moment. Harry Redknapp needs to start getting results quickly, but Bolton can be tricky opposition. A 2-2 draw sounds about right and will earn you 11/1 odds at Paddy Power. Fulham vs Portsmouth: Pompey really are turning into a crisis club and you can't blame anybody but the management. Tony Adams is looking increasingly out of his depth and I can see a 1-0 to the cottagers here. Pompey are a tall team, but I think Fulham will be able to keep it on the ground and win the game on their own terms. 11/2 with Paddy Power. Hull vs West Brom: Despite Hull's league position, this one is definitely a six-pointer for both sides. West Brom will need this win to stay in the league and Hull need it to avert a slide towards the relegation mire. Phil Brown's men should be able to win this one and I'm backing them 2-0 as the Baggies will still be shell-shocked from their drubbing from United. 9/1 with Paddy Power. Middlesbrough vs Blackburn: As soon as Southgate sells Mido, he goes and converts a goal. Typical. Boro just don't seem to have any real match-winners and Blackburn can battle with the best of them. 2-1 to Rovers pays 17/2 with Paddy Power. Manchester United vs Everton: If United are to concede a goal this is probably the match. Tim Cahill truly is an outstanding player who can irritate any defence on the planet. United will be looking to stamp their mark on this match early and I'm backing them to maintain their clean sheet streak with a 2-0 victory paying 9/2 at Paddy Power. Newcastle vs Sunderland: Newcastle are really struggling at the moment and I can see Sunderland having just enough to edge this one out. 1-0 to the Black Cats pays 15/2 with Paddy Power. Liverpool vs Chelsea: This one is, flat out, a make or break game for Rafa Benitez. He must secure something other than a 1-1 draw in order to cool the pressure. Scolari really isn't that far off from Benitez's position and when was the last time you can remember a big four clash when both managers were under pressure? This one has the potential to be terribly dour, but it also has the potential to be some really champagne stuff. I'm going to back the chavs in this one and say Chelsea 2-1, at the death. Drogba. 9/1 with Paddy Power.
