ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE BETTING TIPS FOR FEBRUARY 7 AND 8
Aston Villa have been playing well and are firmly entrenched in the 4th Champions League spot sitting 5 points ahead of Arsenal. Everton are taking up their usual 5-6 position and breathing down their necks are a new crew of clubs challenging in the top half of the table- Wigan Athletic, West Ham, and Fulham. Hull City are on a bit of a downward trajectory and have only won once in the past 15 matches. Punching above their weight they are, but they need to start winning games again, and quickly. It likely won't come this weekend as they take on Scolari's Chelsea, but I am anticipating a pretty thorough contest. The Sunday fixtures are looking good with Manchester United facing a tricky away tie at West Ham and another London Derby takes place as Arsenal clash with Spurs. Man City vs Middlesbrough: Middlesbrough are in relegation territory and relegation form at the moment, and while they are better off facing City than certain other teams, I don't expect them to turn it around. It will be tougher than City think it will be, and I am expecting a 1-0 victory for the Citizens which pays 11/2 at Paddy Power. Blackburn vs Aston Villa: Sam Allardyce has put together a decent run at Blackburn, but he hasn't really come up against good quality opposition yet. This Villa side haven't been their best over the past few weeks, but are a competent team and are certainly on the way up. The points from this match will be essential, especially if Arsenal can't pull off the victory against Spurs. I'm backing Villa at 2-1 which pays 17/2 at Paddy Power. Chelsea vs Hull: Phil Brown likely knows that this one won't be exactly the most winnable game he'll have all season, but you really do get the feeling that Chelsea aren't firing at their best at the moment. Hull need to score goals, but I'm backing Chelsea 3-1 which pays 9/1 at Paddy Power. Everton vs Bolton: Everton finally have an out-and-out striker in Jo and you have to fancy them against Bolton. Tim Cahill has been immense lately and I'm confident that they'll win this 2-0 paying 13/2 with Paddy Power.Sunderland vs Stoke: Stoke pulled off a good result a week ago and will be looking to build on this one. I'm going to buck the trend and back them to draw 1-1 with the Black Cats. 5/1 with Paddy Power. West Brom vs Newcastle: Newcastle aren't in good sorts and N'Zogbia leaving really hasn't done them any favours. I think over the course of the season, Shay Given's absence will be even more apparent. Newcastle are no strangers to the crisis club tag, but can't envy Joe Kinnear. 0-0 with Paddy Power pays 9/1. Wigan Athletic vs Fulham: When was the last time these two teams played and they were both in the top half of the table? I would say Wigan are on the up and up and will win this one 2-1 which pays 7/1 with Paddy Power. Portsmouth vs Liverpool: Portsmouth are a hairsbreath off the relegation mire and feel that Tony Adams days are numbered. I think he just got the dreaded "vote of confidence" and you know that isn't good news. Liverpool need Torres to perform here and we'll see how they cope without Stevie G. 1-0 to Liverpool pays 5/1 with Paddy Power. Tottenham vs Arsenal: Paddy is running a promo on this one ensuring that if Robbie Keane scores last, they'll refund all losing 1st/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles. I'm backing a 1-1 draw here. 5/1 at Paddy Power. West Ham vs Man United: United will roll on and will not concede a goal in this match. I expect to see Wayne Rooney make an appearance off the bench around the 70th minute. I expect Berbatov to put in another great performance. 2-0 to United pays 6/1 with Paddy Power.
