There was a lot to like about the match, which Chelsea probably did enough to win, but United displayed that fighting spirit right into the depths of injury time and that’s something that lacked throughout the entirety of the brief David Moyes era.
Manchester City were also undone by West Ham, as the London side put together one of their best performances in a long time by overturning last years Champions. It’s a credit to Sam Allardyce that he was once considered to be a 1/2 favourite to be the next manager to get sacked in the English Premier League but he now sits at a 66/1 price tag after steadying the ship so successfully in recent months.
The other big surprise has been the fact that Southampton are sitting second right now heading into the November fixtures. Even more impressive is the fact that they sold off a good portion of their squad from last year which saw them prove that they were the real deal.
Their fans were left dismayed by the clear out during the summer months with a number of their players being picked up by the bigger spending sides - but the cover that was brought in by the manager has proven to be first rate and so many of these players look genuinely able to keep this run coming. It appears as though they might very well “do an Ipswich” and stay up there well into the new year.
As it currently stands, punters will find Chelsea available at a very slim 1.33 price tag as Jose Mourinho’s side remain the only undefeated team in the entire English Premier League at this point in the year. The Blues have only dropped points agains Manchester City and Manchester United and, with both of those sides set to play each other next week in what looks to be an absolute barn-burner of a fixture, the Blues simply need to win their match and look to keep things rocking and rolling at the top of the league.
