We’ve had some really interesting swings in the odds recently in the English Premier League since the opening two weeks of action have proven to be very eventful. And that, they certainly have. 

On Saturday, Manchester City - the defending champions and odds-on favourites to win the league once again - were dealt their first dropped points of the season on only the second time of asking as Spurs were able to conjure up a deserved, if not controversial, victory. 

VAR has been a significant presence in the English game this year and it reared its head in stoppage time here as City thought they had the match won in the dying minutes only for VAR to rule the goal out. It should be noted that they were good sports about the whole thing with Pep Guardiola admitting there was nothing he could do about the decision. 

This has seen city drift a bit and they are now out to a price of 8/15 to win the English Premier League again and that’s just a slight bit longer than what they had been trading at for the majority of last week after recording a significant victory in the opening contest of the season.
