- By A.J. There is plenty of action to take in and we have seen a number of contests put up a lot of goals so the lack of a proper pre-season is definitely showing with a number of sides’ defensive units.

Liverpool were able to make a big statement as they got the better of a very underwhelming Chelsea side, who were unfortunate to lose a player just before half-time. Jurgen Klopp’s men put in a virtuoso performance against a Chelsea side that likely thought they could take something from that game.
Manchester United had a terrible match against Crystal Palace and the Reds are currently sitting in 15th off that effort - their first of the season. Only a goal from new signing Van De Beek served as a highlight for Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s men and their price to compete for the league title this year very much collapsed after that lacklustre performance.
United have not been able to make the key signings that they needed over the summer break and the situation with chairman Ed Woodward is starting to become obvious to everybody. A big signing - a Jadon Sancho or something akin to that - will be necessary prior to the close of the transfer window if United think they’re going to compete on several fronts this year.
Leeds United were able to put together another big scoring contest as they took on their fellow promoted side Fulham. They will be looking to make an even bigger impression in the coming weeks and they deserve accolades for playing such attacking football.
