ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE CORRECT SCORE PREDICTIONS FOR DECEMBER 13 AND 14
Last weekend brought us a stellar weekend of Premiership thrills and spills as the big 4 dug in and pulled out some real results when they needed to. I think this weekend will be much more up-for-grabs than last weekend and I can see a few serious upsets brewing here. The big news coming out of this past week has been the Eboue situation at Arsenal and the chanting problems they had pertaining to Sol Campbell and Mido. While fans booing their own players isn't really anything new, it is to be expected for somebody as thoroughly unlikeable as Eboue. The racist chanting, however, should be reserved for Spanish national team coaches and nobody else. It's embarrassing stuff, frankly, and I'm glad that the FA is looking to crack down on it. UNITED LIFELINEUnited need to have a solid outing and secure the win against Harry Redknapp's Spurs. With the FIFA World Club Cup fast approaching, United will have yet another game in hand and they really can't afford to fall off the pace. After barely eeking out a victory against Sunderland (courtesy of a goal from a central defender) despite having an unbelievable 85% of the possession, Fergie will be demanding a more solid performance. Paddy Power is running a special on that game, where if Dimitar Berbatov scores last- they'll be refunding all losing correct score, goalscorer singles and scorecast results. With Dimi considered to be a pretty cold, calculating dude you get the feeling that notching one against his former club wouldn't even phase the guy. Not like he celebrates his goals anyways?THE BIG MATCHESThe biggest mystery for me, this weekend, is going to be the Wigan/Blackburn game. This is a virtual must-win match for Paul Ince and anything less than a win will put him even further out on a limb. He needs results and he has the team to get results, he just needs to figure out how to do it. Roque Santa Cruz will need to step up and save his manager's job here. I'm also looking at Sunderland grabbing a full three points off West Brom which would, effectively, relegate West Brom. They need to start picking up points and going in rock-bottom at Christmas usually doesn't work out. Usually. Middlesbrough vs Arsenal: 2-2 thriller with Van Persie scoring twice for the Arse. 11/1 WITH PADDY POWER!Aston Villa vs Bolton: 2-1 to Villa with Ashley Young putting in another excellent performance. 13/2 WITH PADDY POWER!Liverpool vs Hull City: 1-1 draw. Hull will frustrate Liverpool who will need a big performance from Riera to secure the draw. Hull are back. 15/2 WITH PADDY POWER!Manchester City vs Everton: 2-2 draw. Everton need more points, as do City. 11/1 WITH PADDY POWERStoke vs Fulham: 1-1 draw. Stoke will look on this one as a must-win, but Fulham have been punching above their weight this season. 9/2 WITH PADDY POWER!Sunderland vs West Brom: 2-0 to Sunderland. The Black Cats will roll here. 8/1 WITH PADDY POWER!Wigan vs Blackburn: 3-1 to Blackburn with Roque Santa Cruz having a stand-out performance. Amr Zaki will score for Wigan. 33/1 WITH PADDY POWER!Tottenham vs Manchester United: 2-1 to United with the final goal coming from Berbatov. 13/2 WITH PADDY POWER!SundayPortsmouth vs Newcastle: 2-1 to Newcastle, who are just starting to get back in something that looks similar to good form. 10/1 WITH PADDY POWER!Chelsea vs West Ham: 2-0. No chance for West Ham here. They are the definition of Premiership mediocrity. 9/2 WITH PADDY POWER!
