Should Liverpool somehow pull off the impossible and pip United to fourth, it would require them to win their last two matches by a combined aggregate scoreline of over 14 goals.
The relegation battle is also nearly sorted with only a single spot still open and the bookmakers strongly favouring Hull City to wind up taking the final place in the trap door down to the Championship. Should the Tigers pull off the reverse and actually pry their way out of the relegation zone, then it could wind up being Newcastle or Sunderland who wind up going down.
Hull go into their fixture against Spurs this weekend requiring at least some semblance of points and it may not be completely out of the question as Tottenham have dropped a few points to lower league opposition this year and they have little to actually play for at the moment.
The bookmakers see Spurs as the 8/11 favourites while Hull City can be backed at a 15/4 price tag. They will be up against Manchester United in the final leg of the Premier League and will be hoping to be in with a shout of actually staying up on the final day of the season. Should Newcastle or Sunderland lose this weekend then the opportunity will remain live but if both of them pick up any points and Hull City lose, then they will be effectively relegated.
