English Premier League New Years Fixtures Preview PT 3
- By A.J. Ryder on December 29, 2014 17:26 GMTEverton trade as the 5/4 favourites despite being the visitors but that might be a bit too short here. Hull can be backed at a 12/5 margin and the draw trades at a solid 9/4. The draw would be a good live wager, particularly if they go into the second half still with a 0-0 scoreline left to dispute.

Liverpool are the significant favourites against Leicester City and can be backed at a 4/9 margin to get the victory here. While that price is just a bit too short, you can still expect that to be a popular wager on accumulator tickets. Leicester have been unable to get genuine results in the league but they do come off one of their first victories in quite some time with a 1-0 win over Hull City in a relegation dogfight.
Should Leicester be able to pull something off here at Anfield - even a draw would be a solid result for them - you can bank on the pressure rising on Brendan Rodgers. The Liverpool side is a stop-start affair this season and much will be gleaned from their match-up today against Swansea.
The Foxes are a 13/2 price which makes them one of the biggest underdogs of the day and you reckon there might be a few cheeky folks who have a shot at them getting one over the Reds on New Years Day. Look for the draw at 7/2 if Liverpool aren’t playing up to snuff in this important match.
Manchester City rank as the biggest favourites of the entire day as they host Sunderland with a minuscule price tag of 1/4. That is probably a bit short and Sunderland might fancy their chances here considering Burnley were able to put two late ones past the title challengers. Look for the Black Cats at a lengthy 11/1 while the draw can be backed at a full price of 5/1 right now. There is a lot to like about this fixture and don’t expect City to run away with it. In fact, a wager on Both Teams To Score might just be the way to go here for any neutral punters looking to extract some value.
Newcastle face off against Burnley and look like they should be able to get something from the match despite Burnley likely being in an inspired mood after picking up a point against Manchester City. The Magpies are a solid 7/10 while the draw can be backed at an 11/4 margin and the visitors come in with a price of 4/1. If Newcastle play like they have for much of the season they should run away 2-0 winners here but you reckon that Burnley has other plans in this contest.
