English Premier League Outright Betting Odds PT 1

There is a really exciting edition of the English Premier League set to finally kick off this weekend as the 2014/15 season begins in earnest now that the Community Shield and a seemingly endless array of friendly fixtures have finally concluded. The bookmakers seem to have made a few changes over the summer if you compare their previous assumptions about the upcoming season to the odds available at the start of the summer.

Manchester City and Chelsea appear to be in a dead-on shootout for the English Premier League crown with both sides trading at 2.87 prices to win the league outright come mid-May. With both sides reinforcing over the summer - Chelsea doing several pieces of business bringing in a number of big names - while Manchester City haven’t put together any real blockbuster signings but have still brought in several highly-regarded new players.

The big surprise appears to be that Louis Van Gaal’s Manchester United side are trading at a 6.0 price tag - making them the third favourites to win the title after their most disappointing season in eons under the brief, but disastrous, tutelage of David Moyes.

Oftentimes, the former Everton manager looked bewildered and amazed by his surroundings to the point where that never really wore off. On the pitch he often looked absolutely out of his depth as it was clear that this was a Manchester United side that didn’t believe in itself and was simply not able to play quality football for a gaffer who just didn’t get it.

Now, with an essentially perfect pre-season campaign under their belts, the Red Devils have shortened in price significantly to the point where they are well-fancied ahead of Arsenal to grab the Premier League crown. It would be an incredible story if they were to go right back to the top of the league and would be another massive thorn in the side of David Moyes - who still appears to be trying to kickstart his career again after such a spectacular fall from grace.
