ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE PREDICTIONS FOR NOVEMBER 29 AND 30
Another weekend of Premier League Action is upon us and this year we're seeing a slight spin on the usual "Grand Slam Sunday" line-up they like to do a couple times a year. In lieu of the Chelsea-Arsenal-Man U-Liverpool axis all facing off against one another, they've shifted Liverpool to Monday's game and lined up United against City. That's always a world-class match and many eyes will be peeled on Sunday's early opener. ANOTHER BIG WEEKENDLast week was testament that this Premier League season is distinctly different than ones that came before. The promoted teams all performed reasonably as Hull continued their improbable run to the upper echelons of the league table. Stoke pulled off a six-pointer at the Hawthornes with Wigan also pulling off a shock 1-0 reverse over Everton. The Spurs revival continued as well with Blackburn falling at White Hart Lane. Stoke versus Hull is an enticing-looking fixture and this one is very much Hull City's match to win. Any team winning this one will look at it as another massive step towards premier league survival. Stoke need it more than Hull at this point, but I get the feeling that neither team will be playing for the draw. EVEN MATCH-UPSThere aren't many lopsided matches happening this weekend, the only exceptions possibly being the Villa-Fulham game and Liverpool's Monday fixture against struggling West Ham. Everybody else is pretty much even with Portsmouth-Blackburn, Middlesbrough-Newcastle, Sunderland-Bolton and Wigan-West Brom all really tough matches to call. This one will be a wild and woolly 72 hours so make sure you're hedging your bets, as this weekend's action has me expecting the unexpected. Aston Villa-Fulham: 2-1 to the Villains with Gabby Agbo on the scoresheet early.15/2 @ 888SPORTMiddlesbrough-Newcastle: Despite Viduka's rumoured return, this has 1-1 written all over it. 6/1 @ 888SPORTStoke-Hull: I expect Rory Delap to factor into this one, but 3-1 to the Tigers. 33/1 @ 888SPORTSunderland-Bolton: Sunderland will get things back on track in a tight 1-0 win. 13/2 @ 888SPORTWigan-West Brom: A must-win for West Brom, but I see this one staying at 0-0. 15/2 @ 888SPORT Man City-Man United: 2-0 to Man United with Ronaldo and Berbatov scoring. 13/2 @ 888SPORTPortsmouth-Blackburn: I expect Tony Adams to fancy a win against his old England teammate. 2-1! 15/2 @ 888SPORTTottenham-Everton: A 2-2 barn-burner. 16/1 @ 888SPORTChelsea-Arsenal: An Arsenal victory would make things interesting at the top wouldn't it? 2-1 to the Chavs. 6/1 @ 888SPORTLiverpool-West Ham: West Ham just can't find form, despite eeking out a victory against Sunderland. 2-0 to Liverpool. 11/2 @ 888SPORT
