English Premier League Relegation Betting

The race is on at the bottom end of the English Premier League to determine which three sides will fall through the trap door to the Championship for the 2020/21 season. There appears to be three odds-on favourites for the drop according to the bookmakers and you’ll find that the field still isn’t really settled yet with no side in the mix effectively relegated based on the math.

Norwich are certainly close though with bookmakers pricing them as low as a 1/100 margin for Championship football next season. They are sitting on a slim total of 21 points and would basically need to win every single one of their remaining games to stay up.

Bournemouth and Aston Villa are basically level on virtually everything and sit in the other two relegation slots with a combined 27 point haul for each of them. Both of them do have an opportunity to stay up and it will require nearly perfect results from here until the season’s penultimate contest.

Of the two, the bookmakers are convinced that Aston Villa has the better odds of staying up as they are trading at a ⅓ price tag for relegation according to a look at the latest market. You’ll find they have a bit more momentum and face a couple of easier teams they could actually extract a result from.

Bournemouth are trading at 1/7 for the drop and look likely to face another season in the Championship after putting in a couple of good performances earlier in the season.

Watford are the only other side with a realistic price of getting the drop and you’ll find that they can be backed at a 2/1 price tag if they are ultimately relegated. They currently sit just a point off the drop zone so if you reckon that Villa will be able to make an impression and stay up.
