English Premier League Relegation Betting
- By A.J. There’s a lot to like about what’s happening in the race for the Champions League positions but the battle at the bottom looks like it could take a while to sort out as a few clubs are still a ways away from safety.
Examining the bottom end of the table, you’ll see that Sheffield United are still struggling to put together enough points to even have a shot at finishing above the relegation zone and a few more lost contests will result in them being mathematically relegated already.
A mere 11 points from 25 games is not going to cut it and it must be frustrating for their fans because they have shown some good moments at various points during the season so far.
West Brom are perennial relegation candidates and they look to be deep in the mire this time around with a 14 point total accumulated so far. There isn’t a lot of matches where they can pick up points coming up so they will need to dig deep and start grinding out results soon.
Things get interesting for the third relegation spot, however, and you’ll find that Burnley, Brighton, Newcastle and Fulham are only separated by a mere six points. Fulham started really badly but have looked a bit better as of late while Newcastle have had some good performances but continually get undone by conceding goals they really shouldn’t be conceding.
Fulham sit on 22 points total with Newcastle on 25, Brighton on 26 and Burnley on 28. The bookmakers have priced Fulham at even money for the drop and Newcastle trade at a 13/8 best price for relegation. Burnley are trading at a best price of 8/1 for the drop and that could wind up looking like a really nice price if they go on a bad run over the next month or two.
