ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE SATURDAY OCTOBER 23 BETTING TIPS
We've got a few quality-looking fixtures on Saturday before the crème-de-la-crème fixtures kick off on Sunday. There are only two odds-on favourites on Saturday, Chelsea and Spurs, so I think that there are plenty of money-making opportunities and you can certainly cash in with a few nice selections. Chelsea vs Blackburn is the 5:30 fixture and Chelsea are 1/6 for the win with Sam Allardyce's side listed at a lengthy 18/1. The draw pays 11/2, but while I don't think this will be an easy game, Chelsea should run away with this one. Blackburn play tough, physical stuff, but I think that Chelsea simply have way more options and a better strike force. Tottenham vs Stoke looks like another 3 points of Harry Redknapp's side. I think Spurs are well-priced at 1/3, but you may look for the correct score selections here to add a bit of value. I think Peter Crouch is a good bet to score should he get the start. I think Stoke won't have to worry about relegation this year, but I don't think this is the type of fixture they can win.Hull vs Portsmouth is already a proper relegation 6-pointer. This is an absolute must-win for Phil Brown's men and I could see a potential sacking if Hull aren't competitive. The Tigers are at 6/4 while Pompey carry a 9/5 price. The draw is listed at 23/10 and I think that's the way to go here. Burnley vs Wigan is an interesting fixture and one that I think Burnley will feel they can get a result from. Wigan are still a solid side who can surprise nearly anyone, so I think this one boils down to who scores first. Burnley are 7/5 while Wigan are at 19/10. The draw is 23/10 and I'd have to side with Burnley based on their home form. Wolves vs Aston Villa intrigues me because Wolves have been flying under the radar a bit this season. They aren't far off relegation, but somehow don't look like they'll go down. Burnley have been playing above themselves while Birmingham are a spot below Wolverhampton. Villa are fairly solid favourites here at 23/20, but Molineux is a tough place to go and Wolves at 12/5 is a solid price. Birmingham vs Sunderland is an important one for Alex McLeish's side, but with the form that Sunderland are in, I can't see them losing this one. They have the best strike-force outside the big four and their defence is quality as well. William Hill lists the Black Cats are the 6/4 favourites with the Brum side at 9/5. The draw is 23/10, but I say Sunderland all the way here.
