ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE TIPS FOR JANUARY 30TH
We've got quite a few matches kicking off today and, while they may not wind up being as anticipated as the United vs Arsenal fixture on Sunday, you can bank on plenty of excitement and a whole lot of goals. We'll be looking at some of the better matches and trying to gauge which direction things might be heading in.
Birmingham vs Tottenham is definitely a closer one than it looks, Alex McLeish's men had their lengthy unbeaten run ended by Chelsea last time out, but I think they are more than capable of beating Harry Redknapp's Spurs side. Birmingham trade at 2/1, Spurs are at 11/8 while the draw trades at 9/4.
The bookmakers don't see a huge amount between Fulham and Aston Villa with the London team priced at 7/4 against Villa's 8/5 listing. I think Martin O' Neill's men can use the three points a bit more than Roy Hodgson. Gabriel Agbonlahor to score first pays 6/1.
Chelsea vs Burnley is tilted sharply in favour of the Blues. You'll find Carlo Ancelotti's side trading at a slim 2/7 away to 11/1 Burnley. I think the best Burnley fans can hope for is the 4/1 draw, but I have a feeling that Chelsea may try to run up the score if they get a few past the keeper early on in the match.
Liverpool vs Bolton could be a real opportunity for Wanderers, who are trading at 7/1 against Liverpool's 4/9. I think that's a bit too short on Liverpool, who really need to get a result here to keep their recent spot of momentum going. The 3/1 draw will be popular with neutrals.
Everton have done quite well since Landon Donovan arrived and they look set to contest an upper-table finish they wouldn't have fathomed in September. David Moyes side trade at 11/8 to beat Wigan, who are listed at 2/1. I'll also be taking beleaguered West Ham to get a result over Blackburn Rovers at 11/10.
