ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE TRANSFER DEADLINE ROUNDUP

There hasn't been a huge amount of transfer movement with any of the English Premier League title challengers and therefore we haven't seen too much fluctuation in the odds to win the 2009/10 Premiership. Perhaps the most notable news for the big four doesn't even include a transfer deal- Eduardo has been banned for two games by UEFA for simulation in the 2nd leg qualifier match-up against Chelsea. Aston Villa has been busy today and with just a few minutes to go, it looks like they likely won't be able to sign Richard Dunne. James Collins has been confirmed but you get the feeling that Martin O'Neill needs a central midfield signing. There has been rumours floated that free agent Dietmar Hamann could be signing for Villa after the window closes. Ibrahima Sonko has joined Hull City on loan and that could definitely factor in to their relegation odds. David James was the subject of lots of attention, but it doesn't look like much is going to go on today. Nickey Shorey arrived at Fratton Park to sign a contract, but they failed to agree to personal terms so he will likely be staying at Villa. Israeli International Tal Ben-Haim has moved from Manchester City to Portsmouth and he will be replacing Sylvain Distain. Speaking of Pompey, they managed to sign Benfica midfielder Hassan Yebda on a season-long loan. There are rumours that Anton Ferdinand is moving to Tottenham in exchange for Alan Hutton, and there was also some speculation that Blaise Matuidi was set to sign for Arsenal, but there is no word out of Ashburton Grove as of yet. Everton completed the transfer of Dutch defender Johnny Heitinga to add some steel to what currently looks like a porous back-line. As it currently stands, Chelsea are the 6/5 favourites to win the Premier League with Manchester United listed at 13/5. Arsenal have overtaken Liverpool as third favourites and they carry an 11/2 price with the scousers listed at 7/1. Manchester City have ratcheted up a 10/1 listing. Relegation betting odds have Portsmouth and Burnley set to go down at 8/13 with Hull City the other favourite at 10/11. Birmingham are at 6/5 while Wolves are available at 15/8.
