There is a lot to like about this contest and you will find that the bookmakers seem to be nearly deadlocked about who is actually going to be able to pull off the victory here – as the 90 minutes betting looks to be an absolute toss-up between all of these sides. For instance, you'll notice that the vast majority of bookmakers have France trading at a listing of around a 9/5 margin for the outright victory while you will find Germany trading at a 2/1 price to find that victory within the first 90 minutes of the match.
Just to make matters even more complicated the bookmakers have priced the draw at a 2/1 price tag as well so you'll look at more or less the same price on every single outcome within the first 90 minutes of the match. That's just how little there appears to be between all of these teams.
France were able to earn their way to this stage of the competition by seeing off the plucky Icelandic side in an emphatic 5-2 victory that really saw France never completely find their top gear simply because they didn't have to. The Icelandic side looked to be just happy enough to be there and they found themselves pegged back to a 2-0 margin very quickly by the electric French side.
The Germans required extra time and penalties to see off a resolute Italian side in a real fascinating finale to what was actually a rather tepid contest between the sides. The contest didn't see a huge amount of back and forth but both sides were able to make the most of the few chances that they had but Germany, again, proved to be the world's most unbeatable side on penalties – even though they found themselves down in the order against the Italians early on.
