Now that the English Premier League and a number of Europe’s domestic competitions have wound down for the season, eyes are beginning to turn to the Champions League and Europa League, which both kick off this week after a very lengthy break.

The Europa League kicks off first with a number of interesting clashes set to unfold when the sides begin the tournament again this Thursday.
The tournament definitely appears to be up for grabs and you can bank on a number of clubs being right in the mix as we get closer to the semi-final stage over the coming weeks. Many of Europe’s top clubs are trading in single digits to lift the trophy but you can definitely bank on a few upstart entities also being in the mix as well.
The fact that all sides are playing in neutral locations without their home support definitely evens the playing field and that might make some of those longer odds selections all the more appealing. Manchester United are considered to be the favourites to lift the trophy - which would be a real accomplishment for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after securing fourth place on the final day of the English Premier League.
United wobbled a bit towards the end of the season but were able to get the result they needed in their final contest against Leicester City on the last day of the season. The effect that Bruno Fernandes has had on that side cannot be understated and the return to form of Paul Pogba has been one of United’s biggest stories of the entire season.
