EUROVISION 2009 BETTING SEES MASSIVE PRICE DROPS FOR NORWAY AND GREECE
Just as I had predicted all along, Norway's Eurovision betting price has dropped to below evens with Alexander Rybak now commanding a price of 8/11 for the outright win. Greece is listed at 11/2 and that is a drop from yesterdays price as well. We are seeing heavy betting going into the final day of the competition and the price for Rybak is exactly as I had predicted. I actually expect the price to drop in-play. The UK are now listed as co-third place favourites alongside Turkey and Azerbaijan. Bosnia & Herzegovina are available at 16/1 with Ukraine and Iceland deadlocked at 18/1. France can be backed at 25/1. The biggest surprise for me of the day has been Germany literally doubling in price. Yesterday they were listed at 20/1 and can now be backed at 40/1. They sit alongside Estonia, Malta and Armenia. Finland, Sweden and Albania are all at 50/1 while Denmark and Spain share a price of 66/1. Moldova and Portugal are at 80/1, while Romania, Russia and Lithuania share a price at around 100/1. Israel is at 125/1 and Croatia boasts the longest odds at 150/1. If you have resigned yourself to Alexander Rybak triumphing at Eurovision this year, why not check out the Betting Without Norway market at Paddy Power? Greece commands a price of 9/4, Turkey and the UK are at 5/1. The prices are more or less cut in half for the shorter odds countries, but they stay about the same for the longer shots like Israel and Croatia. There is also a mini-league where you can back the highest finisher between the UK (11/10), Germany (4/1), France (4/1), Spain (9/2) and Russia (11/2). EUROVISION WINNING PREDICTIONI am predicting a win for Alexander Rybak, but I will be backing Turkeys Hadise and Greek entry Sakis Rouvas on each-way bets. I am backing the UK to win the mini league and I am backing Greece to win without Norway.
