EUROVISION 2010 FIRST SEMI FINAL ODDS SHOW BELGIUM, GREECE AND SLOVAKIA FAVOURED
We’ve got the first big betting market for the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest set to close today as the 1st Semi-Final is set to kick off this evening. It looks like it will be a competitive day with several contenders listed with reasonable chances of winning. This first semi final is a bit of a toss-up but Belgium are considered the stand-out contenders with a 3/1 price for Tom Dice and his track “Me and My Guitar”.
Greece are definitely in with a shout in tonight’s contest and they are priced at 7/2 for Giorgos Alkeos & Friends song “Opa”. That sounds Greek, alright. The other plausible winner is Slovakia- who trade at a 9/2 price for Kristina and her song “Horehronie”.
After Slovakia, the odds take a pretty big jump to 6/1 for Iceland and they get even higher for 9/1 Serbia. Albania trades at 10/1 while Belarus can be backed to win at 14/1. Moldova is priced at 18/1 but don’t really look like solid contenders at this point.
Keep in mind that you can get each-way odds on this one on the top 3 places at 1/4 of the odds. This is a nice way to extract some value from the longer odds performers like Bosnia & Herzegovina at 20/1 and Malta at 28/1.
Estonia and Finland are both listed at 33/1 while Russia is trading at 40/1. Lativa is priced at 50/1 while Poland are at 66/1. Portugal are listed at 80/1 while FYR Macedonia carries the longest odds on the night with a 100/1 price to win the first semi final of the Eurovision Song Contest.
Personally, I think that Belgium are the ones to beat here and I’m tempted to favour Slovakia over Greece as I’m just a bit political like that. I don’t see any major shocks and you can still lock in some decent prices on the favourites out there. Stay tuned for our article on the qualification betting for tonight’s first semi final!
