EVERTON BETTING TIPS 2009/10 PREMIER LEAGUE
Everton seem to be banging on the door every single year, but always tend to come up just a tad short. They remain one of the few teams that has broken the big 4's dominance in the past few years and they are rather long odds to do so again. They now have a serious contender for fifth place in Manchester City and the bookies have adjusted the prices accordingly. Tim Cahill remains the lynchpin of the team with Phil Neville captaining and Joleon Lescott growing in prominence every year. Phil Jagielka is undoubtedly one of the most talented and versatile young players in the world and they also possess the services of one Tim Howard- who knows a thing or two about incredible saves. Marouanne Fellaini is one of the Premier League's fan favourites and I expect him to build on the progress he made last year. Last year the Toffess finished up in fifth, which is what they're looking to do again this year. Finishing in the top four is a big gamble and they're 8/1 to do so. They are 6/1 to finish fifth again and that's a really solid bet in my opinion. Lower than that pays a meagre 1/7. It's clear where the bookies think Everton will be. They are 5/1 to win the league without the big four, Man City are odds-on at 5/6 while Spurs are tipped ahead of them at 7/2. For Everton to finish in the top half, you're looking at a very slim 1/7, but that's still really easy money. Over 38 games, Everton simply have too much quality to finish outside the top 10. Their likeliest candidate for top goalscorer is Yakubu at 50/1 with loan-signing Jo at 66/1. Louis Saha is 100/1 to perform that feat as well. Personally, I think Everton have every chance of finishing fifth, I'm not completely won over by this City-hoo-ha, so I'm keeping my sceptic goggles on until at least January.
