EVERTON VS. BRENTFORD- PREVIEW, NEWS AND ODDS
Everton challenge League One outfit Brentford this evening, in what should be an easy win for the Toffees
Brentford, who currently sit 19th in League One are out of their depth in this match-up, despite Everton's shocking start to the season thus far.
They will be looking to welcome back on-loan striker Robbie Simpson from a hamstring strain, with midfielder David Hunt still out with torn ankle ligaments.
Everton do not have the luxury of being an in-from team capable of fielding fringe players, and youngsters, as home supporters demand nothing less than a convincing win tonight
Everton are likely to play a strong squad with both Tim Cahill, as well as Phil Neville, hoping to return from knee and foot injuries respectively.
On the injury front Everton will be without Louis Saha (calf), Jack Rodwell (ankle) and Victor Anichebe (knee)
The Toffees will be viewing this clash as a welcome respite from the disastrous premier league run experienced thus far and, having managed just two points from their opening five games in the Premiership, Moyes will use tonight as the opportunity to jump-start a season in tatters
Due to Everton's somewhat tumultuous start to the season, Paddypower have lengthened Everton’s odds to 4/9. Brentford, who have also had a far from impressive start to the season are sitting at 6/1
There are also some very decent opportunities to be had with backing the score predictions for tonight.
Plain and simple, this Everton side is a class outfit that has had a bad run of late. Even so, they have more than enough talent to take a Brentford side that are boasting their first appearance in the League Cup third round since 1991/92.
Everton will win this...and win this well.
A 1-0 Toffees win is at 5/1; however this team will run rampant with at least a 3-0 win- which would see odds at 17/2
Everton beat Huddersfield 5-1 in the last round played the Carling Cup and a similar victory over a League One club would be the perfect result for a Toffees side that are simply too good for this Brentford outfit
Prediction: Everton to win 3-0 at 17/2
