EXPRESSO STAR THE FAVOURITE TO WIN WILLIAM HILL LINCOLN
The story of the 2009 William Hill Lincoln has so far been about one horse and one horse only- Expresso Star. This four year old American is owned by Her Royal Highness Princess Haya of Jordan and brings both an impressive pedigree and unbelievable form into this race. Currently, Expresso Star is listed at William Hill with odds of 4/1 in the antepost market. His closest competitors are Charm School (9/1) and Swop (9/1) along with Fireside (10/1) and Huzzah (11/1). Expresso Star brings an excellent record of 3 wins and 2 2nd's from 6 starts on the flat. He recorded two excellent victories at Nottingham racecourse in October of last year triumphing over Suits Me and St Jean Cap Ferrat. He also recorded a very easy victory over Lily Grove at Hamilton in September of last year. This horse has excellent form and knows how to win a race. While his lifetime earnings aren't particularly high, the horse is only four years old and there is much expected of this feisty American runner. Most of his experience comes with Jimmy Fortune on top, but he's recorded victories with several different jockeys and I don't see him being dependent on anyone in particular. At this point, the value isn't necessarily as high as it was last week, but I can only see Expresso Star's stock rising in the coming days. With last minute talk emerging that several of his key competitors were close to pulling out of the race, we could see his price cut in half by post time.
