FA CUP 5TH ROUND REPLAYS LATEST BETTING TIPS
Only four teams could secure wins first time out in the 5th round of the FA Cup which means there are four replays for us to divulge in tonight. Each of the Premier League managers involved in tonight’s ties had stated their desire to not add an extra game to their schedule by having to play a replay, but now that they have come around you can be sure that they will be giving them their full attention.
There are two all Premier League ties one of which – Stoke v Manchester City – will result in an away tie against Chelsea for the victors. Whilst the rest of the teams in the competition are likely to be hoping for a Manchester City win on the basis that they are most likely to beat Chelsea, I feel that Stoke are the value bet here. Carlos Tevez, Patrick Viera and Adam Johnson are all unavailable whilst Martin Petrov, Kolo Toure and Roque Santa Cruz are all facing late fitness tests which could leave Roberto Mancini with few options when selecting his team.
Although Man City have lost just one of their last five they have drawn their last three and their only away win in their last five was against Scunthorpe. That includes dropped points in the league against Stoke which could have been a lot worse but for a late Gareth Barry equaliser and an unfortunate disallowed goal for Stoke. If you’re not happy to back Stoke to win in 90 minutes at 3.0 (2/1) with Betfair then I would certainly advise backing them to qualify at 2.1 (11/10).
The other all Premier League affair is between Bolton and Tottenham. The first match ended 1-1 and was in fact an extremely exciting game for the neutral, Tom Huddlestone missed a penalty which would have sent Spurs through to the next round but a draw was a fair result in the end. Back at White Hart Lane they should get the job done with a minimum amount of fuss given Owen Coyle’s terrible away record but I won’t be rushing to back them at 1.4 (2/5) in the match odds market. I’d prefer to put my money on this one being another open affair by backing over 2.5 goals at 1.8 (4/5) with Betfair. Although the first meeting ended 1-1 there were chances aplenty and it was a very open game, neither team will be keen on the game going into extra time which should see them committing more in attack as the game progresses.
Tottenham are 7.6 (13/2) and Stoke are 41.0 (40/1) to win the FA Cup outiright.
