FA Cup Betting Preview PT 2

Expect a full-strength line-up from Southampton and that’s why their 20/23 price right now is decent value - despite them being away from home. They have proven that they can get results anywhere and tangle with the best of them. Ipswich trade at a 10/3 price while the draw can be backed at a 13/5 margin.

Spurs will be going into their match against Burnley as the biggest favourites of the day with a 1/2 listing out there right now. Expect that price to drop as we get closer to the kick-off as Spurs have been playing really well lately, despite their blip against Crystal Palace at the weekend. You can write that one off as the Alan Pardew factor as a feel-good vibe has been injected into Palace lately thanks to the arrival of the ex-Newcastle manager, who moved suddenly right at the height of the Christmas season.

Burnley should not be written off, however, as they have been putting together some really good performances during the past few weeks. They look likely of saving their Premier League status if this continues so it’s worth being a little hesitant to back Spurs outright here. You’ll find Burnley priced at an 11/2 shot for the win here while the draw can be backed at a 10/3 price at the moment.

Expect Spurs and Southampton to be a very popular double on the day as punters look to extract value from the teams that would be favoured to win here. It’s not a bad price all things considered and could be the play of the day on Wednesday.

Looking ahead to the Cambridge vs Manchester United match-up, we’ve got United priced at a 1/6 margin heading into the match while the host side can be backed at a very lengthy 12/1 price tag. The draw is trading at a 5/1 margin and there isn’t a huge amount of value to be had here when you consider the likely outcome.

Manchester United have dropped FA Cup matches against much lower league opposition in the past (see: Exeter) but you can expect them to name a competitive line-up for this one as Louis Van Gaal will be looking for a performance. The 1/6 price is probably about right though you reckon a few might be having a bash on another big FA Cup upset - as United might be seen as vulnerable right now following their loss to Southampton.
