Look for closely matched teams on paper who are in contrasting form over the last five matches or so. There are plenty of sides in the mix for this one who really aren’t that accomplished and might be vulnerable playing away or they are unlikely to score first. Grabbing the first goal is absolutely essential in matches like these and there are some competitive markets out there if that’s what you want to stake most of your wagering on.
Looking at some of the Premier League sides tasks on Saturday, we have Manchester City priced at a slim 1/6 for the outright victory against Watford. Things are bound to be a bit shaken up at City right now and you really do wonder if Mario Balotelli is actually going to play for that team at any point in the short-term future.
Watford are trading at a 14/1 price to get the result here while the draw (which would result in a replay) is paying out in the neighborhood of 6/1.
Aston Villa aren’t usually odds-on to win very often this season and it looks like this side are really trying to find their feet at this point in time. They may have just the opportunity here as they line up against Ipswich Town - and they trade at a 17/20 price to get the victory and progress to the next stage. The Tractor Boys are priced at 7/2 while the draw can be backed at 23/10.
Sunderland face a tricky away draw at Bolton and it looks like the bookmakers are lukewarm about this one. Punters will find Sunderland listed at a 13/8 price tag while Bolton are sitting at 8/5 for the victory in front of their home fans at the Reebok. Expect a highly-charged atmosphere at this one, you might see Bolton being a popular option on accumulator tickets.
