They now loom as the distinct second favourites to win the 2015 FA Cup and that’s a big opportunity for them to continue moving forward and to take a lot of positives from a season that hasn’t really worked out as many thought it would.
As it currently stands, Arsenal rank as the favourites to secure the trophy at Wembley come the end of the season in mid-May. Most major bookmakers have them priced around a 9/4 margin to pull this off and that price could swing dramatically based on who they are drawn with in their next fixture.
The interesting aspect at the top of the table is that both United, Arsenal and Liverpool could lose to virtually any other opponent they play. All three of the remaining “big” clubs have dropped points to lower opposition at some point this year and don’t have the degree of invulnerability that a Chelsea or Manchester City would normally get - such is the beauty of the FA Cup.
United can be backed to win the FA Cup at a 5/2 price tag and that’s not a really bad wager when you think about it though you would probably do better price-wise just to parlay them to win the rest of their remaining fixtures. Louis Van Gaal knows how to win cup tournaments and his theories might prove more adaptable here.
