FA CUP ODDS AND BETTING TIPS FOR JANUARY 2
We've got some really incredible matches kicking off tomorrow in the latest round of the FA Cup and we have the return of one of the best fixtures in all of British football- Manchester United vs Leeds United. While this may not carry the mystique it did back in the earlier part of the last decade, it will still be a fixture full of passion and history, but now it has the added value of a potential cupset fixture.
After United slaughtered Wigan a few days back, you really have to fancy the Reds and the odds lais out by Blue Square tell no lies. United are listed at 2/9 for the victory while Leeds carry a 10/1 price. Should they force a replay, you'r elooking at a lengthy 11/2 payout.
On January 2nd, Aston Villa take on Blackburn and, despite losing to Arsenal, Villa will likely continue to roll here. Their offence and ability to move the ball will likely overwhelm Blackburn and I can't really see them getting many solid chances. Villa are well-priced at 8/13 while Blackburn trade at 5/1 for the victory.
Bolton are heavy favourites to dispose of Lincoln and you'll find Wanderers listed at 1/4 while Lincoln trade at 11/1. Bolton are a bit all over the place at the moment and you never know- Lincoln could pull something off.
Everton take on Carlisle United and I think they will likely field a full-strength side. The Toffees trade at 2/9 while Carlisle are listed at 11/1 for the victory.
Liverpool travel to Reading and the former Premiership side will be looking to give their fans something to cheer about. 'Pool trade at 2/5 while Reading can be backed at a 15/2 price. Should the reds slip up and the result is a draw, you are looking at a 10/3 price.
One of your best odds of the day are in the Birmingham/Nottingham fixture. You'll find Alex McLeish's side sitting at a lengthy 6/4 while Forest sit at 7/4. A draw here is listed at 23/10, but personally I am all over that price on Birmingham.
Middlesbrough vs Manchester City is skewed heavily in favour of Roberto Mancini's side and they trade at 4/7 with Boro available at a lengthy 5/1. This is a potential cupset, but it is definitely City's match to lose.
My fivefold for the day is Villa x Everton x Fulham x Birmingham x Liverpool @ 8.64.
