Fabio Cannavaro - world footballer of the year?

Fabio Cannavaro has been cut from 6/4 to 11/8 to be crowned world footballer of the year following sustained support, Ladbrokes reported yesterday. The Italian world cup winning skipper leads the betting ahead of reigning player of the year Ronaldinho,- a 3/1 chance.Cannavaro could not have done much more to win the award. He was excellent throughout the world cup and provided a timely reminder of his class in Real's 2-0 win against arch-rivals Barcelona.
