FEDOR EMELIANENKO VS FABRICIO WERDUM STRIKEFORCE ODDS AND BETTING TIPS
Arguably the best fighter in the world steps into the cage tomorrow for the latest edition of Strikeforce in San Jose, California. It goes without saying that Fedor is a big favourite here and the odds certainly reflect that. He has so much depth and can win fights by a variety of different ways- it's not surprising to see that he hasn't lost a bout in the better part of 6 years and that was because of an accidental headbutt.
Some pundits out there are calling Fedor beatable in this one and are advising punters to take Werdum. I'm not sure whether I agree with that and I think a lot of the rationale is based around thoughts like "he's started a bit slow in his last two fights" or "he's due to lose sometime".
Fabricio Werdum's best bet is likely to force the takedown and go for the submission, likely a guillotine or a triangle choke. The problem is he may have to think twice about going to the ground as one wrong move can put Fedor on top and he'll be able to unleash that fearsome ground and pound.
You'll find Fedor's odds to win currently trading at a slim 1.17 on Betfair while Werdum's odds are trading around 4.1. The market isn't really as mature as I'd like it and I expect plenty more volume to come in on this one, especially from Russia. The thing is- I think Fedor's price could drop in an avalanche of patriotic bets so you should probably lock in your price now.
Method of victory betting is also available but its also not a very dynamic market. Fedor by KO or TKO is listed at a slim 1.35 price while Fedor by submissino pays out a 3.0. A decision victory is trading at a 6.0 price and that's not a bad bet if you fancy Werdum to outperform expectations.
Werdum's odds to score a KO or TKO victory are trading at 6.0 while a submission win pays out at 8.0. A decision victory is priced at 14.0.
