Gereaghty-piloted Punjabi is listed as the 2.18 favourite to take 1st place in the final race of the day at Newcastle Racecourse. Coming in shortly behind Punjabi is the much-heralded Harchibald who is sitting at an enticing 5.3. A hairsbreath behind him is D.N. Russell riding Sublimity, listed at 5.9. These are your top three horses for this race and you get the feeling that 2 out of those three will make it in for sure. BLUE BAJANThe real interesting permutation is when you include Blue Bajan into the mix. Sitting at 9.8, and starting in the #2 slot, Bajan has the record to contest this race and his relatively long odds make him an awesome pick for your show bets or your each-way bets. The rest of the field are offered at extremely long odds with Harper Valley a whopping 65, Arcalis sitting at a 36 with Tazbar and Noble Alan deadlocked at 30. I expect many of these odds to jump around a bit over the next 24 hours and I think you'll see Blue Bajan's odds narrow significantly, possibly down to 7 or 7.5.
