FIORENTINA VS LIVERPOOL CHAMPIONS LEAGUE TIPS
It isn't often that the visiting side is listed at evens, but Liverpool take on one of the Serie A's top performers in Fiorentina tonight with the bookies predicting a victory for the Scouse side. Current listed at evens for the outright win, Liverpool are fresh off the demolition of Hull City in the Premiership. Fiorentina pay out at a solid 14/5 while you can back the draw at 23/10. I don't see Fiorentina winning this one without some real howlers from the Reds, so their fans would be best to back the draw. The bookies seem convinced that this will be a 2-3 goal game and I do fancy Fiorentina to score. Even Hull managed one at the weekend. 2-1 in each direction garners a 15/2 and 12/1 price for Liverpool and Fiorentina, respectively. I think that having Fernando Torres up front could really make the difference here, as there aren't strikers like him in the Serie A and I think he could certainly trouble any Italian defence. Liverpool are an enticing 9/4 to win both halves, but I think this one may be more of a Draw/Liverpool match at 4/1. Fiorentina are 11/2 to win both halves. The draw is favoured for the half-time result at 11/10 while Liverpool pay 6/4 and the Italian side pay a straight 3/1. Both teams are odds-on to score here, at 4/6, so I don't see a 0-0 draw or even a 1-0 being plausible scenarios. If you're looking to get into the goalscorer market, Fernando Torres is 9/2 first or last with an anytime price of 5/4. Steven Gerrard is 6/1 first or last and 13/8 anytime. Dirk Kuyt is the type of man for these types of nervy fixtures so 12/5 sounds about right on him at anytime. Adrian Mutu is the favoured goalscorer for Fiorentina at 7/4 anytime and 7/1 first or last. Riccardo Montolivo is a really classy up-and-comer and I fancy him at 5/1 anytime. I think Liverpool should just pip this one 2-1, possibly with a late goal.
