Floyd Mayweather Coming Out of Retirement - Will He Face Ricky Hatton or Manny Pacquiao?

With popular bookmaker 888sport already having released odds on the much-anticipated Ricky Hatton vs Manny Pacquiao fight scheduled for June 21, the boxing world was rocked by news that Floyd Mayweather is set to come out of retirement for an epic rematch with Hatton. There are also rumours afoot that Mayweather considers Hatton a warm up for a titanic bout with pound-for-pound best fighter in the world Manny Pacquiao. At the moment, many observers are puzzled over why Mayweather is so intent on a Hatton rematch as his first fight back. There is a lot of talk over possible opponents for him and the Pacquiao fight seems to be on everybody's lips. I imagine that a December or November bout is probably the most likely time for a Mayweather-Hatton battle to take place- likely in Vegas, but there is also a chance that it could be held in the UK. In terms of the Hatton/Pacquiao fight, 888sport has listed Manny as the outright 2/5 favourite to take the title. Hatton is listed at 7/4 and the veritable GDP of the UK could be increased if Hatton takes the fight as the betting volume should be hugely slanted in Ricky's favour. A draw pays the usual 20/1. June of 2009 is set to be a banner month for pugilist fans, as David Haye is set to battle it out with former heavyweight champ Vitali Klitschko a week and a half after the Hatton/Pacquiao bout.
