FLOYD MAYWEATHER VS JUAN MANUEL MARQUEZ BETTING PREVIEW

We are about 24 hours away from one of the most widely-anticipated fights of the year. Floyd Mayweather is coming out of retirement and will be facing Juan Manuel Marquez in a non-title fight. This is probably the highest-profile non-title fight you'll see for quite some time and, if the odds are anything to go by, Marquez is in for a hell of a night. Apparently, Juan Manuel Marquez revels in the position as underdog and his 3/1 price certainly tells no lies. Mayweather is listed at a 2/9 price and is favoured by the bookies to win via decision. So, for the basics, the bookies expect this one to go the distance with Mayweather winning. The value is everywhere but there. I don't really see much sense in backing Mayweather by his outright price. You'd have to stake £1000 just to profit around £200. His odds are 1/1 on the decision and I really think the only way he can lose is for Marquez to score a shock knockout. My suggestion is to heavily back Mayweather via decision and then take advantage of some of the highly-priced round-by-round betting. Personally, I wouldn't rule out a first round KO by Mayweather as he will likely come out flying and he may have a few things prepared that the Marquez camp hadn't factored into the equation. He is 40/1 with Bet365 to score a first round KO or TKO. His lowest odds are during rounds 10 and 11 where he is priced at 12/1. He is 14/1 in rounds 8 and 9. Marquez is 80/1 to win in the 1st or 12th round with 66/1 being the price for all other rounds. I think Mayweather can KO Marquez in the 1st, 6th, 8th and 9th rounds. If Marquez can get past 9, this is going to a decision. Back Floyd Mayweather on points and by the round, but avoid him outright. You can back him on a KO, TKO or DQ anytime at 17/10.
