FLOYD MAYWEATHER VS SHANE MOSLEY PREVIEW AND LATEST ODDS

After seeing Manny Pacquiao go the distance in a walk-over of Josh Clottey, attention is now turning to the Mayweather vs Mosley fight coming up on May 1st. Top bookmaker BET365 has released a detailed set of odds for this fight that offer up some interesting prices, but don’t exactly look like odds that are going to surprise anybody who knows a thing or two about these fighters.

As it currently stands, Floyd Mayweather trades at 2/9 for the outright win with Mosley at 3/1. The over/under on rounds is set at 11.5 with the over paying a slim 2/7 and the under at 5/2.
The match is heavily favoured to end as a decision in favour of Mayweather (wow, didn’t see that one coming!). You’ll find Floyd Mayweather’s odds to win by decision at a slim 4/7 with his price on a KO, TKO or DQ victory paying out at a very solid 4/1. “Sugar” Shane Mosley is trading at 7/1 for the KO or TKO victory while he trades at 11/2 for the decision. A draw or technical draw pays out at 20/1.
Grouped round betting is also available and if Mayweather is going to pull off a victory by KO or TKO, it looks like it will be between rounds 7-9, where you’ll find his shortest price. He’s listed at 12/1 to win between rounds 7-9, inclusive. He is 22/1 to win in rounds 1-3, 16/1 to win in rounds 4-6 and 14/1 for a victory in rounds 10-12. Mosley is 25/1 to all of the round groupings except rounds 10-12 where he actually drops in price to 18/1- that’s interesting.
If you think the match won’t go to a decision, you’re looking at some first-rate odds on the round betting at BET365. Mayweather’s price fluctuates between a low of 25/1 for rounds 9 and 10 all the way up to 60/1 for a 1st round victory. Mosley’s price trades at 66/1 for a 1st round win all the way down to 40/1 for the last three rounds.
Personally, I think there’s plenty of value in betting for this fight not to go the distance. I think that Mosley could get cut and that would necessitate a stoppage. I think it could definitely happen in the later rounds and, though I think it will be a Mayweather decision, the odds are good enough to have a bash on this turning out in a distinctly different way.
