Football betting: Premier League - Liverpool v Man Utd

Football fans can have no excuses for moving from the sitting room on Sunday afternoon, unless of course they are at either Anfield or Ashburton Grove for what Sky are quite rightly billing as the Premier League's Super Sunday. It all kicks off at 1.30pm with Manchester United a tasty 7/4 with Paddy Power to inflict Liverpool's first home Premier League defeat of the season. Fernando Torres, Dirk Kuyt, Steve Gerrard and Ryan Babel were again on target as Rafa Benitez's side scored four goals in a game for the fourth time in seven matches and completed their third consecutive must-win Champions League victory. There is no doubt that when Livepool fire they are red hot but while Besiktas, Bolton, Porto and Marseille have been positively incinerated in recent matches, last year's Champions league finalists are equally prone to the odd hiccup. The Premier League defeat at Reading at the weekend was as limp and inexplicable as the home loss against Marseille in Europe and against United they can ill afford to be anything but on their mettle. There is no doubt that the hosts will be up for the match, not least to avenge the home defeat of last season but United, who have reduced the gap on leaders Arsenal to one point in the last fortnight, are moving ominously up in the gears. They could even afford to rest nine of the side that mashed Derby County 4-1 last Saturday in the meaningless midweek draw at Roma. United are in great form and, although they too slipped up against Bolton not so long ago, are impressing more and more with every match. Carlos Tevez and Wayne Rooney have developed a marvellous understanding, while Cristiano Ronaldo is still improving. "He's a fantastic player to play alongside," said Rooney of the Portuguese on Wednesday. "He's only going to improve but at the moment he's frightening. If he doesn't win the World Player of the Year award I don't know what more he's got to do." United have the bit between their teeth, are well rested and will be ready to turn Liverpool, who haven't won this fixture in the Premier League for six years, over for a second year running.
