Football odds: Champs Lg - Chelsea vs Olympiakos
Although the history of the Champions League suggests that you should never back a side who have drawn 0-0 at home in the first leg, the 14.5/1 Betfair have priced up Olympiakos to surprise Chelsea is too good to miss. Such news doesn't bode well for either Arsenal or Olympiakos, although the Greek side should not be underestimated at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday. From being perennial European whipping boys, the Greek outfit have morphed into a resilient side with an industrious midfield and a cutting edge. Before this campaign began they had gone 31 matches without an away win in the Champions League. However, that all changed on Matchday 2 when they overcame Werder Bremen in northern Germany, coming from behind with three goals in the last 17 minutes from Ieroklis Stoltidis, Christos Patsatzolglou and Darko Kovacecic. Panagiotis Lemonis's side also rallied from a goal down to stun Lazio in Rome - Luciano Galletti and Kovacecic again getting on the scoresheet - and two goals (Galletti and Julio Cesar) in their defeat at Real Madrid reveal Olympiacos to be a side capable of scoring goals on foreign soil. Chelsea are rightly favourites. They are still smarting from losing to Spurs in the Carling Cup final and desperate for international recognition which only a European Cup win will provide. They also have a fearsome home record - which probably explains the odds - and an embarrassment of riches from which to pick a starting XI. However, all is not well with Grant's new Chelsea; it seems there are rotten apples in the barrel. And at 15.5 with Betfair it's worth seeing if the Greeks can't expose a festering, widespread blight. Another side looking well-priced to win on the road are Roma, who take a 2-1 lead to the Bernabeu. The Giallorossi are flying at the moment, after closing Inter Milan's lead at the top of Serie A with a 4-0 hammering of Parma. Roma are growing in confidence with every European campaign and only need to catch the Spaniards out on the counterattack to get the away goal that will almost certainly kill off Bernd Schuster's side. Real have an unrivalled European Cup pedigree but with Arjen Robben out and Ruud van Nistelrooy doubtful the ball is very much in the court of the in-form Francesco Totti and co. Verdict: 1pt Olympiakos @ 15.5 (Betfair); 2pts Roma @ 6.4 (Betfair). Click here for your free £25 to bet on the Champions League with Betfair
