Football Summer Transfer Betting Preview PT 3
- By A.J. Ryder on May 18, 2015 18:40 GMTGareth Bale is still favoured to stay at Real Madrid with a 4/6 price tag and an even money price to depart. It will be interesting to see how that will all come together and there is a rumour that he may be a makeweight as part of a deal to take David De Gea to Manchester United during the summer.

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan is also very much in the mix for a potential move to Manchester United this summer and the bookmakers actually have him odds-on to make the transfer to Old Trafford. A number of top clubs are pursuing his signature and Manchester City are a 5/2 shout to pick him up while Bayern Munich are certainly in the mix too with a 9/2 margin right now. Arsenal are 8/1 and he is 10/1 to remain at Dortmund so expect him to make a move somewhere else next season.
Lionel Messi is heavily favoured to stay at Barcelona but tax problems may force him out of Spain. In the unlikely event that he does depart, look for him at 12/1 to move to Chelsea and 25/1 to Manchester City. Bayern Munich are 33/1 while AC Milan, Inter and Juventus are all trading at 50/1.
The bookmakers appear to be confident that Mats Hummels is likely to move to Manchester United as well with the well-regarded defender a crucial investment for United’s back line - which was admittedly makeshift at times this year. You’ll find him priced as low as a 2/5 margin while Dortmund are the next best-priced listing at a straight-up 2/1.
Widely-considered to be the world’s most potentially expensive player, Paul Pogba (who was allowed to leave Manchester United on a free in 2012 because Sir Alex was unimpressed with his attitude) is favoured to stay at Juventus with a 13/8 margin. PSG may make a bid and he’s 4/1 to venture there while Manchester City may splash the cash and trade at a competitive 5/1 price tag for his signature.
