Free bets on NFL NY Jets MIA Dolphins
Coming off a bye week, the New York Jets are 2-0 for the first time since winning their four contests back in 2000. Their Pro Bowl centre Kevin Mawae, who fractured his right hand in a 34-28 victory at San Diego two weeks ago, will be looking to keep his streak of starting 157 consecutive games intact - the NFL's third longest behind Brett Favre (192), and Will Shields (178). Mawae anchors an offensive line that has helped Curtis Martin rush for 315 yards and three touchdowns in two games. The Jets' all-time leading rusher is averaging 5.2 yards per carry. It has also been a sizzling start for Chad Pennington, who has completed 75% of his 56 passes for 482 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions. The Miami Dolphins, on the other hand, are looking to avoid going 0-4 for the first time in 38 seasons. A revamped offensive line that features four new starters and a non-existent running game have been the Dolphins' biggest problems this season. In their three games, Miami have just 142 rushing yards on 69 carries, a little more than two yards per carry. The Patriots, despite their winning streak, have not played particularly well (the Colts should have taken the spoils in Week 1), and Buffalo could enjoy some success with their ground attack, so long as the offensive line can open some holes for Travis Henry and backup Willis McGahee. The Patriots have not looked great against the run so far, with the Colts' Edgerrin James running all over the Super Bowl winners. Breaking the streak is going to be tough for the Bills, but if their offence can show their teeth and the defence continue to perform well, they might just be able to cover the spread at least. Prediction: Bills (+5.5) @ 10/11.
