Friday night, fright night
Believe it or not Big Brother 8 is just 16 days old yet it already feels like it's lasted at least a lifetime. As unoriginal as the format has now become it can still throw up a surprise every so often yet tomorrow night's eviction is set to be one of the more straightforward in the programme's long, but far from illustrious, history. Scary Shabnam will walk in Friday night's first eviction. She is a best priced 1-20 with William Hill and the only surprise is is that she is still there, preening in every available mirror and annoying all housemates she comes into contact with. She says that she is only on the show for the 'deals' it will throw her way but if it were not for posh totty Emily's misdemeanour last week and the cancelled eviction that followed then Shabnam would surely already have had her 10-minutes of fame and be on the way to Z-list nobody by now. Elsewhere things remain dull, despite a task that saw all housemates don fish outfits and lie in fish guts. Not the most pleasant of tasks and certainly not great viewing given the funniest thing to happen was Gerry's 'there's something fishy going on' gag. Chanelle and Ziggy continue to snog at every given opportunity which, let's face it, is not a bad thing for the failed popstar to be spending his time doing, perhaps she'll even start believing soon that he's only 26. Charley remains obnoxious at best, question marks continue to hang over Tracey' birthright while the twins continue to prove how the education system in this country is failing so miserably. As for a winner, I think there is a sting in the still to come as surely not all the Channel 4 bigwigs think this series is good viewing. You never know perhaps even a normal housemate will enter, so I like the 5/2 Stan James offer on a.n. other to win the show. Verdict: 1pt any other to win BB8 @ 5/2 (Stan James)
