GERMANY VS AUSTRALIA 2010 WORLD CUP TIPS AND BETTING PREDICTIONS

Australia have proven in past World Cups that they can be a real force to be reckoned with and it took some Francesco Totti trickery to knock them out of the 2006 competition. With Italy ultimately going on the win the tournament you know that the Aussies spent the past four years asking themselves "What If?"

Popular bookmaker Bet365 has priced Germany as the solid favourites with a 1.53 price. Australia can be backed at 7.5 and that would be quite an upset if they were to pull it off. The draw is listed at a 3.8 price and I don't really think that's out of the question.
It hasn't been a dramatically high-scoring World Cup and I imagine the Aussies will be trying to keep things tight early on and if they can get a few chances from dead-ball situations then I think they'll be happy.
The bookmakers don't seem to favour a dramatically high-scoring affair with a 1-0 result to Germany favoured at a 5.5 price. 2-0 pays out at 6.5 while a 1-1 draw is listed at 7.5.
One thing that should definitely be mentioned is that Germany aren't as big a favourite as they usually are in this tournament. They are only at 5/6 to win their group and, without any blockbuster teams in it, you would assume they would pull it off easily and be listed at a much shorter price. I have a feeling that the bookies think Germany are beatable here.
As it currently stands, Mario Gomez and Miroslav Klose are the favourites to score with a 2.3 price tag. Lukas Podolski is sitting at 2.6 and if he gets the start then he should definitely trouble the Australia defence. Thomas Muller has had a very good season and you'll find him at 3.6.
I've got my eyes on Tim Cahill and he's listed at 6.0 to score anytime. He will likely be the focal point of most of the Australian counter-attacks.
Personally, I think that everybody knows Germany should win this match- the operative word being should. I think Australia could be ready to spring a surprise and they certainly have a great price to do so.
