GERMANY VS ENGLAND STARTING LINEUPS AND LAST MINUTE BETTING TIPS
We're less than an hour away from kick-off in the England vs Germany fixture in the knockout stages of the 2010 World Cup. The games don't really get much bigger than this and many believe that this is the most anticipated match of the tournament.
Popular Uk bookmaker Ladbrokes has trimmed England's price today and they have dropped from a 2.62 to a 2.75 as we predicted to due a rush of heavy late volume. You can now back Germany at a 3.0 price (one of the highest out there) while the draw is also trading at 2.87- that price is unchanged.
The outright qualification odds haven't changed yet either with England continuing to be listed at a 1.8 margin while Germany trade at 2.0.
Interestingly enough, both England and Germany are now priced at 9.0 to win the match on penalties- it had previously just been Germany that was favoured. Both sides are 11.0 to win in extra-time.
The starting lineups for the match came out not long ago and here they are:
Germany: 1-Manuel Neuer; 16-Philipp Lahm, 3-Arne Friedrich, 17-Per Mertesacker, 20-Jerome Boateng, 13-Thomas Mueller, 6-Sami Khedira, 7-Bastian Schweinsteiger, 10-Lukas Podolski, 8-Mesut Ozil, 11-Miroslav Klose.
England: 1-David James; 2-Glen Johnson, 15-Matthew Upson, 6-John Terry, 3-Ashley Cole; 16-James Milner, 4-Steven Gerrard, 8-Frank Lampard, 14-Gareth Barry; 19-Jermain Defoe, 10-Wayne Rooney.
Wayne Rooney's odds for an anytime goal have been cut from 2.37 to 2.25 with all other contenders remaining unchanged. Miroslav Klose is at 3.0, as are Peter Crouch and Jermain Defoe. Lukas Podolski is at 3.5 with Steven Gerrard and Emile Heskey.
I think that the last minute price cuts on England and Wayne Rooney are indicative of where everybody thinks this match is going to go. If England can keep 11 men on the field and play their best match of the tournament there is no reason why they can't win.
