GERMANY VS SPAIN LAST MINUTE BETTING PREVIEW AND WORLD CUP PREDICTIONS
This is a very intriguing contest between two of Europe's top sides. One was expected to dominate the competition and the other one has been a genuine surprise since the tournament started.
Spain were initially listed as the outright favourites to win the tournament with the bulk of bookmakers pricing them at 5/1 to win the competition outright. The Germans weren't expected to do much here, and definitely not expected to do much with the absence of Michael Ballack. It appears as though Ballack's disappearance has been the catalyst for some really good things as this young and extremely likable Germany side attack with plenty of pace and verve.
A lot of bookmakers have given the edge to Spain and clipped their prices accordingly, but popular UK bookmaker Ladbrokes is listing this match as aboslutely dead-even with some genuinely excellent prices on offer.
Germany and Spain's odds to win are both listed at 2.62 while the draw can be backed at 3.3. I think that extra-time and the draw are very plausible outcomes here and you can count on this one to go right down to the wire. I don't see either side winning by a particularly large margin and a higher-scoring affair wouldn't surprise me in the least.
The outright qualification odds are listed at 1.83 for both teams and that bet includes extra-time and penalties so its a solid listing if you are willing to sacrifice price for a bit of extra insurance.
In my personal opinion, you'd do well to back a method of victory in lieu of backing either team to qualify. You can lock in a 10.0 price on the Germans to win the match on penalties while Spain are 11.0 to win on penalties or by extra time. The Germans trade at an impressive 13.0 to win the match in extra-time. With Miroslav Klose on the pitch you'd have to fancy them.
Both sides are listed at even-money to score the opening goal of the match. The over/under is at 2.5 and the under carries a 1.66 price while the over is listed at 2.1.
Spain are 4.0 to win to nil while Germany are just behind at 4.33 to do the same. This is one of the few markets with a price variant between the two sides.
Spain are 10.0 to come from behind and win while Germany are priced at 11.0 to pull of a come-from-behind victory.
I think that I give the edge to Germany here but this is just such a wide open match that you may want to save your betting cash for the in-play wagering.
