Goalscorer Preview - Blackpool v Manchester United: Nani
- By Lewis Doe on December 3, 2010 18:00 GMTNani has been in very good form this season and should dominate one of the flanks in the Premier League match against Blackpool.
Nani seems to have grown up a great deal this season and is now one of the first names to go down on the Manchester United team sheet every week when he is fit and fighting.
Nani plays in a similar way that Cristiano Ronaldo did during his time at the club in the respect that he races up and down either flank and has a few tricks up his sleeve. This makes him very hard to defend against and means he can cut inside to rain shots on goal with the drop of a shoulder.
The Portuguese winger has scored a total of five Premier League goals so far this season and he looks hungry for more. He will be used by Sir Alex Ferguson as a player who can exploit the slow and sluggish full-backs that Blackpool have. Nani is a great bet at 2/1 to score at any time against Blackpool and 6/1 to score the first goal of the game.
The one thing that Ferguson and all United fans have asked for from Nani is more consistency. He has always been handy when attacking other sides but his final ball and passing has sometimes been questioned.
He seems to have improved this side of his game substantially and if he isn’t scoring himself then he’s playing a big role in making sure someone else does. A combined total of eight assists in the Premier League proves this.
However, the Portuguese likes nothing better than going on a majestic run and slamming the ball home with real pace and authority, which provides an excuse for an over the top celebration. Blackpool beware.
