Golf Betting - Types of Golf Bets

Golf Match Bet This is a bet on the relative performance of two players in the competition overall, based on their final scores, as opposed to a physical match. (The two players will not necessarily play against each other in the competition at all).Example Line: To Win A v B A B Nick Faldo v Tiger Woods 3/1 1/3 The bet is determined over 72 holes, i.e. the full 4 rounds or the point at which the tournament is deemed to be finished by the PGA. If the two players end the tournament with identical scores, all bets are void.Example Bet: Selection Nick Faldo Price 3/1 Stake £10 If Nick Faldo wins, your return would be £40 (£30 winnings plus your £10 stake returned).Three Ball BetThis is a bet to predict which of the three named players will be the winner in a single round of golf. Example Line:To Win A v B v C A B C N Faldo v T Woods v E Els 2/1 1/2 7/2 This bet is over 18 holes, i.e. one full round or the point at which the round is deemed to be finished by the PGA. The Three Ball Bet is usually only available during the first and second rounds of a tournament. A draw is not a valid bet, therefore if two or even all three players end the round in a tie, dead heat rules apply.Example Bet:Selection Tiger Woods Price 3/1 Stake £10 If Tiger Woods wins the round, your return would be £15 (£5 winnings plus your stake returned). Two Ball BetThis is a bet to predict which of the two named players will be the winner in a single round of golf. Example Line:To Win A v B A DRAW B Nick Faldo v Tiger Woods 2/1 7/2 1/2 This bet is over 18 holes, i.e. one full round or the point at which the round is deemed to be finished by the PGA. The Two Ball Bet is usually only available for during the third and fourth rounds of a tournament. A draw is a valid bet.Example Bet:Selection Nick Faldo Price 2/1 Stake £10 If Nick Faldo wins the round, your return would be £30 (£20 winnings plus your £10 stake returned).Tournament Bets To WinThis is a bet to win a group, or championship, where a number of players are all competing to come first. For example, a bet on who will win the Top Rookie for the US Open, or who will win the US Open outright are both Tournament (Future) bets. Example Line:US OPEN Player To Win C Montgomerie 25/1 T Woods 33/1 N Faldo 50/1 Example Bet:Selection Nick Faldo Price 50/1 Stake £10 If NickFaldo came first your return would be £510 (£500 winnings plus your £10 stake returned). Each WayThis is two bets - a bet to come first, and a bet for a place. A £10 each way costs £20; £10 for each part of the bet. The number of valid places (also known as the 'range') is always declared. If your selection comes first, both parts of your bet will win. If your selection gets a place only (e.g. 2nd or 3rd), the Win part of your bet will lose, but the Place part will still win.Example Line:3 Places with 1/5 odds Player To Win C Montgomerie 25/1 T Woods 33/1 N Faldo 50/1 Example Bet:US OPEN Selection Nick Faldo Price 50/1 Split 1/5 odds Range Three places Stake £10 each way The payout for the Win part of the bet is based on the full price quoted (in this instance, 50/1); the payout for the Place part of the bet is determined by the split, and is calculated as a fraction of the full price (in this instance, 1/5 x 50/1).If Nick Faldo wins: £10 to win on Nick Faldo @ 50/1 =£510 payout including the stake£10 for a place on Nick Faldo @ 50/5 = £110 payout including your stake Total return = ??620 If Nick Faldo finishes second or third: £10 to win on Nick Faldo @ 50/1 = lose £10 stake£10 for a place on Nick Faldo @ 50/5 = £110 payout including your stakeTotal return = £110 Multiple BetIn Golf, it is possible to place Multiples on either Match Bets, Three Balls and Two Balls, although it is not possible to combine bets between the three types. A Multiple bet involves several different selections. Each selection must win for the whole bet to win. The minimum Golf Multiple is 2 selections, and the maximum is 8 selections. Golf Multiple payouts are calculated by multiplying the price of each individual proposition in the Multiple. For example, you combine selections from the following three match bets with ??100 stake:Example line:Match betA v B A B T Bjorn v R Goosen 10/11 10/11 B Langer v S Leaney 10/11 10/11 R Karlsson v A Cejka 4/5 1/1 Example bet: If you combine the following selections from the above three match bets with £100 stake: T Bjorn to win 10/11 S Leaney to win 10/11 R Karlsson to win 4/5 Your payout would be: Your total return on this Multiple is £656.66 If one of your selections is a non-runner, the Multiple drops down to the next number, e.g. a three player Multiple becomes a two player Multiple; a two player Multiple becomes a single bet. If one of your selection loses, your whole Multiple will lose.
