GROUP C LATEST ODDS SHOW ENGLAND STILL FAVOURED TO WIN GROUP C

Well, I've got to go on record and say that was by far the worst performance of the Capello era and was quite possibly the most shambolic England performance since a rainy night against Croatia. Fabio Capello got the tactics completely wrong and the fact that he left Emile Heskey on that long is a sign that he simply doesn't have a clue at this point.

Substituting Aaron Lennon for Shaun Wright-Phillips was easily the stupidest thing I've seen in years- Lennon was actually offering a bit going forward and all Wright-Phillips can do is lose the ball. Emile Heskey should not play another game, when he's doing well England do well but he's playing like garbage and is cocking up every chance he gets. I don't think Heskey put a foot right.
On the open betting market with Betfair England are still the favoured team to go through as group winner. I'm really not sure what that's all about, but they will have to beat Slovenia by a decent margin to do so. You'll find them trading at 2.24 while the USA are priced at 3.35 to win the group and Slovenia are trading at 3.6. Algeria are 250.0 to win the group.
In terms of outright qualification, England are priced at 1.53 while the USA are at 1.65 while Slovenia are 1.72. Algeria are trading at 5.0.
The favoured progressing tandem remains England/USA at a 2.52 price.
We could get all doom and gloom here after the most abject display a lot of us have seen in a long time. But, take a look at the odds and where the money is at- England are still favoured to go through. We can beat Slovenia but we need to step it up about 800%.
The temperment of the players was the most telling aspect of today's performance. How many times did you see England players throw their hands up in disgust? They look jaded and fed up with each other. Capello needs to rip the team apart and start anew.
We're still in this folks. Let's just hope the punters are correct here.
