Hague Odds Plummet!
Bookmakers William Hill have cut the price of William Hague becoming the next Conservative leader from 16/1 to 5/2 second favourite - the biggest price change since the book was opened. Hague was backed all day and during the busiest period Hills accepted bets with £85,000 worth of liabilities in an hour period. Davis remains the 5/4 favourite to succeed Howard."It takes a massive sum of money to move the price this much and as things stand we'll be crossing our fingers that neither Davis or Hague get the call", said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.Next Conservative Leader: D Davis 5/4, W Hague 5/2, L Fox 7/1, M Rifkind 8/1, D Cameron 9/1, G Osborne 12/1, A Lansley 12/1, T Yeo 14/1, K Clarke 20/1, T May 25/1, O Letwin 25/1, F Maude 33/1, D Willetts 33/1, M Ancram 40/1, J Redwood 40/1, J Bercow 40/1, C Spelman 40/1, A Duncan 40/1, S Dorrell 50/1, E Vaizey 50/1, D Maclean 50/1, B Jenkin 50/1, A Norman 50/1, A Widdicombe 66/1, B Johnson 66/1, J Kirkbride 66/1, N Soames 100/1, I Duncan Smith 100/1, M Fabricant 100/1.
