Hamilton to finish on top?

Driving sensation Lewis Hamilton secured his second Formula 1 victory in only his seventh start in the US Grand Prix in Indianapolis last Sunday. The 22-year-old Briton is now ten points clear of his McLaren teammate Fernando Alonso and Sporting Odds have installed him as 4/7 favourite to win this season's Formula 1 Drivers Championship. Defending Champion Alonso, who finished second in the US is the bookmaker's 6/4 second favourite, while Ferrari's Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen are available at 16/1 and 25/1 respectively. Following on from his two wins in two weeks after his victory in Montreal the week before the US triumph, William Hill have priced the rookie as 6/1 shot to finish on the podium in every grands prix this season and make him 5/2 to make the British GP at Silverstone on July 8 his third victory. Hamilton will be aiming to become the first Briton to win their home GP since David Coulthard won at Silverstone in 2000. Hamilton is now the clear favourite to win this year's BBC Sports Personality of the year. William Hill rate him as a 1/10 chance to take the coveted prize, ahead of jockey Frankie Dettori at 9/1 and 14/1 chance England cricket star Monty Panesar.
