Hammers and the Hornets Doomed
Watford and West Ham will be playing Championship football next season, if the latest Premiership Relegation odds are to be believed. Both teams suffered heavy defeats at the weekend, leaving them nine points adrift of safety. The bookmakers have reacted by making the Hornets an unbackable 1/40 (William Hill) to suffer the drop and the Hammers 1/9 (Paddy Power), which should at least get a decent rate of interest on your stake! The thrid relegation berth looks a touch more interesting, thanks to Charlton's stupendous 4-0 win against West Ham, along with Wigan's 1-0 victory against Newcastle. The Addicks are now 1/3 (Stan James) to be relegated, Wigan are 9/2 (Ladbrokes) and Sheffield United are 11/2 (William Hill). The Blades currently lie seven points ahead of Charlton in the table, although they still face a trip to The Valley in April. Wigan also have to make the same trip in March and punters backing the 9/4 on Charlton to stay up with Paddy Power may be dancing a jig come the end of the season!
