HENIN AND STOSUR COLLIDE IN THE FOURTH ROUND AT ROLAND GARROS

Justine Henin, the pre-tournament favourite to clean up in Paris, stands a victory away from reaching the quarterfinals today and extending her bid for the Suzanne Lenghlen trophy come the weekend.  Standing in her way of the quarters is last year’s semi-finalist in Paris, Samantha Stosur.
William Hill bookies have released over 30 different markets on this compelling clash between Henin and Stosur in the French Open women’s singles fourth round.
Henin is the favourite – surprise, surprise – listed at a price of 1/4 to win outright. Stosur is the underdog at 11/4.
The market on this match could be considered competitive; Henin is not an untouchable favourite by any means. Stosur is a deceivingly tempting puppy, not exactly flung out of reach on the puppy plane.
Most likely their clash in the Stuttgart final a few weeks ago gave way to this modest market. In their only career meeting, Henin beat Stosur  6-4, 2-6, 6-1. As this is the only account between them it is hard to take much from it, save to give Henin the slim edge in their series.
There is only one outcome the majority expects: Henin to win outright. The split is in the manner in which she will win – a convincing straight-set account or over a seesaw, three-set affair.
Bookies fancy a straight set affair offering this result at 1/3 in the set betting market (irrespective of winner). Underscoring this bet are Henin's odds to win in straight sets, listed as a favourable 4/6 bet. At the same time, Stosur is a long shot bet at 11/2 play to win in straight sets.
A three set affair, irrespective of which player wins, is on offers of 19/10. Henin to be that winner is going for 16/5 while Stosur to pull off the upset is listed at 6/1.
